Olympics by Elyse

In Room 4 we have been learning about the Olympics. We made some Olympic torches using bright colours such as red, orange, and yellow. We have been watching videos about them and we learnt that they stay lit all day and all night which is a very long time! Competitors in the Olympics run around Brazil with the torches in the Olympic ceremony representing their country. The torches fly to Brazil in a plane. There are 28 sports in the Olympics and 10500 competitors. My favourite sports in the Olympics is girls gymnastics, hockey, and football. I'm really excited to watch more of the Olympics because it only happens once every 4 years. We also made some Olympic rings. We used the colours blue, black, red, yellow and green. Tom and Vinicius is made out of lots of animals from the zoo. He is a mascot for the Olympics. People who have one arm or leg go to Toms Olympics called the para-Olympics. And people with two legs and two arms go to Vinicius's Olympics. There are three Olympics. The summer Olympics, the winter Olympics and the para-Olympics. We drew some drawings of the gold, silver, and bronze medals. I am really excited about going to the Rec Centre with the whole school.
